I contacted the museum, to make sure the attribution hadn't somehow changed after their webpage was written, and was told the painting is signed A. Böcklin (below the male swimmer's outstretched hand). I corrected your link's content to show Arnold Böcklin instead (actually found another in Böcklin's folder that listed Feuerbach, that I also corrected). Arnold Böcklin is the correct artist for this painting.mabrndthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05188050083278572788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312008762044829227.post-59127779331131270682016-07-22T05:49:33.929-07:002016-07-22T05:49:33.929-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.mabrndthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05188050083278572788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312008762044829227.post-16132279004830428242016-07-22T05:33:53.312-07:002016-07-22T05:33:53.312-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.mabrndthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05188050083278572788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312008762044829227.post-10284502420735788482016-07-21T05:31:38.300-07:002016-07-21T05:31:38.300-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.mabrndthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05188050083278572788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312008762044829227.post-64491089955802965472016-07-20T20:52:42.356-07:002016-07-20T20:52:42.356-07:00I found it on Wikimedia Commons: https://commons....I found it on Wikimedia Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dans_le_jeu_des_Vagues_Arnold_Böcklin.jpg

Please let me know which artist you think is correct.

Thanks!

Steve Steve Melcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07050599724471608003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7312008762044829227.post-89440068007960827332016-07-20T06:28:27.431-07:002016-07-20T06:28:27.431-07:00The museum says this is another painting by Arnold...The museum says this is another painting by Arnold Böcklin. Feuerbach's Wikipedia page says Böcklin was a friend and visa versa.

But, I couldn't find another place online that attributes this to Feuerbach; so, if that exists, I would appreciate being told where you found it.
